Chapter 30
“I am waiting on that knowledge”, Steve said. “I am very proud of you”. “You have turned into a fine young lady”.
“You’re probably mad that I’m involved with Jason”. “And also about my being Sonny’s daughter”, Liz stated.
“No, I know that Jason loves you”. “And I still love you”. “You’ll always be my granddaughter”, Steve stated.
“But I know you didn’t approve of Sonny”, Elizabeth said.
“I just didn’t approve of his occupation”, Steve answered. “I’ve been watching the past months”. “He is good to you and that is all that matters”, Steve told her.
“But what about Jeff and Diana”, Liz asked?
“I’m very disappointed in my son”. “He has become a slave to Diana”. “And as for Diana; I made nice for Jeff’s sake, but I never liked her”, Steve said.

“It’s time for you to go back”. “You have so many things still to do”, Steve said.
“I love you grandpa”, Liz said.
“Before you go there’s one thing I need to say; tell you grandmother I will see her later”. “And kick Sarah’s ass”, Steve ordered smiling.

Sonny was informed that his daughter had been found. So Monica was sitting with Jason.

“Mom”, Jason said softly?
“I’m here Jason”, Monica said.
“Did they find Elizabeth”, Jason asked starting to panic?
“Yes”, Monica said not knowing how much to tell him right now.
“I need to see her”, Jason begged.
“Hang on”, Monica said.

“Ah”, Elizabeth gasps.
“It’s okay Elizabeth”. “You’re at GH and you’re safe”, Alan said.
“What happened”, Liz asked?
“You were found; Francis said that you were unconscious and were slightly blue”, Alan answered.
“Where’s Jason”, Liz asked afraid?
“He’s upstairs”, Alan told her.
“What happened”, Liz asked as Monica rushed in?
“How is she”, Monica asked quickly?
“She’ll be fine”. “I want to keep her overnight just to make sure”, Alan told Monica.
“Jason needs her now”, Monica quickly said.
“Why”, Alan asked?
“Let’s just get her to Jason”, Monica said evading his question.

Jason’s Room:
Sonny was having a hard time getting Jason to calm down.
“Jason; man you have to calm down”, Sonny said as Monica and Alan wheeled Liz in.

Alan now understood why Monica had come to get Elizabeth. Jason had been having a hard time since Liz had been taken; and add to that his being shot, it was bad. But seeing him in complete panic was not good. If they didn’t get him calm, he could undo all the work the doctors had done to save him.

As Elizabeth took in his injuries, she didn’t even think. She just climbed into bed with him.

As soon as Jason felt her in bed, he was finally able to calm down.
“Elizabeth”, he whispered?
“I’m here Jason”, Liz murmured back.
At that point he fell apart.

“How are they”, Kate and Sonny asked?
“As long as they’re together, they’re fine”. “If they’re apart, they both start to panic”, Monica explained.
“We have them in the same room”, Alan told the couple.

Site where Jason was shot:
“Mac; whoever was aiming at Jason was a pro”. “No shell casings left behind”. “The guy checked his brass”, Taggart said.
The only thing we’ve found is this photo of Jason with a bull’s-eye drawn on it, Mac said.
“Could this be connected to Liz”, Taggart asked?
“But why; if it was, why was Jason the only one hit”? “Especially when Max was here too”, Mac said aloud.
“That’s got me stumped too”, Taggart said.

Where Elizabeth was found:
“All their fingerprints are burned off boss”, Tony told Gibbs.
“Damn”, Gibbs said.
“But they’re pros”, Ziva told them.
“How do you know that”, McGee asked?
“Because my brother trained this one”, Ziva said.
“Do you know his name”, Gibbs asked?
“Ari called him Cobra”, Ziva said. “Those are the only names he used when I was around”. “They all had codenames”.
“Okay”, Gibbs said.

All around Port Charles and the web everywhere were riveted to their TV screens and computer monitors……………………

We have received word that famed enforcer for mob boss Sonny Corinthos was shot yesterday. We have been told that he is at GH in critical condition.
Also we have been informed that Elizabeth Webber was rushed to GH hours ago and is in the best of hands.
We wish her and her family the best”, the reporter said.

“NO! Why won’t she die”? “Damn those men”. “They couldn’t do one simple job”, she screamed!
Now she would have to figure out how to make sure that Elizabeth Webber died.

“Jason Morgan’s still alive’? “How could that be”? “The man I hired is a pro; I guess I have to do everything myself”!
General Hospital:
“How are they’, Alex and Harrison asked?
“Physically; they’ll heal”. “Emotionally and mentally, I don’t know”, Alan said.
“I’m beginning to think that if Liz hadn’t been found; or if she hadn’t been found alive, Jason would have hurt himself”, Monica admitted.
“I can say with certainty that if they’d found Liz; but Jason had died, that Liz would have shut down completely”, Kate said to the group.
“You’re right”, Sonny said agreeing.

After saying Jason’s name two days ago; then saying those three words, and then crawling into Jason’s hospital bed; Liz hadn’t spoken since.
And Jason was worried about her. Being unable to help, all he could do was talk to her about where he planned to take her on their honeymoon.
“I’ll be here waiting when you’re ready baby”, he told her.

WSB:
“What do you need Diana”, Gibbs asked?
“I want to see Elizabeth”, Diana said.
“You need to tell me where Sarah is first”, Jethro stated. “When you do, you can see Elizabeth”, Gibbs said lying. “So what’s it going to be”?

“No”, Diana said.

General Hospital:
Elizabeth was slowly starting to come out of it. She was still scared, but she felt safe.
“How you doing sweetie”, Sonny asked his daughter?
“I’ll be okay”, Liz said quietly. She still couldn’t be away from Jason. If they took her for tests and he didn’t go with her, she would start to panic.

“Did they find anything”, Jason asked Sonny later?
“No”, Sonny answered glancing at a sleeping Elizabeth. “Absolutely nothing”. “Gibbs did say that Ziva recognized one of the dead men that had her”.
‘What about at the clearing”, Jason asked?
“Nothing Jason”, Mac said entering. “All I can tell you is that it was a pro; a very good one”. “He checked his brass”. “I’ve asked Jethro to put a detail on you and Elizabeth”. “I am beginning to think that what happened to Elizabeth and what happened to you is connected somehow”.
“We won’t fight you on that Mac”, Sonny said. “I will do whatever it takes to protect my daughter and Jason”.
“Thanks Sonny”, Mac said. “I’ll let you know when I have more”.

After Mac left Sonny asked:
“Do you think we should postpone Christmas”?
“No; that may be the best thing for her right now; is to have everyone she loves all together for Christmas”. “It’s not like we don’t have enough room to house everyone at the estate”, Jason said.
“I’ll make it happen”, Sonny said. “Take care of her”, he said before leaving to arrange everything.
“I will”, Jason said.

Four days later ->
Madison Estate:
In the week and a half since Elizabeth had been found she had started to bounce back. The only change was that she was terrified of being alone or away from Jason. But Jason didn’t want to be away from her either. He was afraid if he was; he’d wake up and would find that she was still missing.

Sonny had been surprised when everyone including Gibbs and his team agreed to spending the holiday out at Jason and Elizabeth’s.
When Elizabeth had found out that Jason had told Sonny that’d be what she’d want, she’d ended up in tears. And Liz had told Jason that he’d been right. That was what she had wanted.

Christmas Eve:
“How are you”, Sonny asked Jason?
“Now that I have her here; alive and well, I can breathe again”, Jason said.
“I know what you mean”, Sonny said. “I was afraid we wouldn’t get her back”.
“That wasn’t an option”, Jason said. “And besides, I made a promise to Kate”.

“Mom; I was scared”. “I was so afraid I was going to lose her all over again”, Kate admitted.
“I was too”, Alexandria said. “But I don’t think Jason would have accepted that outcome”.
“How is grandpa with all that’s happened mom”, Kate asked?
“He is very suspicious of your father Kate”, Alex said. “He’s hiring an investigator”.
“How are the kids dealing with all of this”, Alex asked?
“They were scared”. “Michael admitted that he didn’t want to lose his sister”, Kate said.

“I will be eventually Steven”, Liz said.

When Jason looked in on everyone, he saw all the kids were cuddled up with an asleep Liz; whose head was laying on a pillow in Dante’s lap. To Jason’s eye, all the kids were protecting Elizabeth. And he had to love them for that.
“She’ll be okay Jason”, Audrey whispered. “You’ll both be okay”.
“I know”, Jason told her.

“Mac; from what you’ve said, Sarah could really want Liz dead”, Alexis said quietly.
“Yes, my gut is saying that’s part of it”, Mac said.

“She’s very lucky to be alive”, Patrick said. “Why would anyone hurt our friend”?
“I don’t know honey”. “But someone does”, Robin said.

“What honey”, Frank asked?
“I remember Sarah”. “She was known for not liking it when someone had what she wanted”. “Could she be responsible for the attacks on Elizabeth”, Karen asked?
“I don’t know”, Frank said.

“What”, Kevin asked?
“Could what happened to Jason and Elizabeth have anything to do with what happened in the park”, Lucy asked?
“I don’t think so”. “That was random Lucy, this wasn’t”, Kevin explained.

Diana had heard the whispering. If Sarah was responsible for what happened to that little brat, she’d failed.
She knew she wasn’t getting out of this mess. But she was realizing that she was going to go down; she’d take everyone with her. Everyone, but Sarah.
Australia:
“I am glad your friend is safe”, Lady Jane said.
“So are we”, Jax said.
“How is she”, John asked his son?
“They’re dealing”, Jax said. “They’re still trying to figure out who wants her hurt”.

“In the den, Ned called”. “They’re chatting”, Jason said.
“How is she really Jason”, Emily asked approaching?
“Em, she’ll be okay”. “Just give her time”, Jason said.
“She’s my friend”. “I worry”, Emily said.
“I know”, Jason said hugging her.

“How are you holding up little brother”, AJ asked? He was worried about Jason.
“I’m okay”. “I’m just glad that she was found”, Jason said.

Audrey’s room:
“Merry Christmas to you too”, Audrey said to Lee and Gail.
“How is she”, Gail asked?
“Better”, Audrey returned.
“Does Mac know anything”, Lee asked?
“Lee; I’m afraid that it’s Sarah”, Audrey said.
“Why”, Lee asked?
“I think that she thinks Elizabeth is in her way of getting the money from my family; as well as from Steve and Helene”, Audrey said.
“She doesn’t know that Steve hired a new attorney; or that he changed his will”, Lee questioned?
“No, and neither of us thought she needed to know”, Audrey said.
“It will be interesting”, Gail said.
Chapter 31
After the New Year ->
Attorney of Steve Hardy:
“So do you have any questions for me”, Sean asked?
“I don’t know what to say”, Elizabeth said. “So he had his suspicions about my really being his granddaughter, and yet he still left me what he did”?
“Yes he did”. “But even though he had his suspicions; he still loved you”, Sean answered.
“Can Sarah contest it; or Jeff or Diana for that matter”, Jason asked?
“Yes, they could”. “But they would have to know that they’d lose”, Sean said. “And the way that Steve set it up, they only have 30 days from today to do that”.
“Wow”, was all Elizabeth could say.

“Well dad; today’s the day”. “How do you feel”, Steven asked?
“That for the first time I’m truly happy”, Jeff said.

“By the power vested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife”, the minister said.

“You’ve made the right choice”, Gibbs told Jeff.

“Yes it does”. “Because of who she’s related to as well as who she’s involved with; you’ve signed our death warrants”, the man said.
“You fools; you’re nothing but cowards”. “You’ve gotten all the money you’re going get”, she said slamming the phone down.
“It looks like I will have to go and kill that bastard myself”. “Now to figure out how to do that without getting caught”……

“She has betrayed me for the last time”, the woman said.
“She’ll go to Port Charles to do it herself; and when she does, she’ll get hers for her betrayal”.

“I can’t officially start looking for Sarah without proof or a warrant”. “Would your man be willing to find her and all he can find as to what she’s been up to”, Gibbs asked?
“Yes; we’ll get him on it right away”, Sonny said.
“Thanks”, Gibbs said as Jason saw him out.

“Hi”, Liz said opening the door for Gibbs.
“How are you doing kid”, he asked?
“Getting better”, Liz answered. “What do you need”?
“Do I have to need a reason to see my god daughter”, Gibbs asked?
“No”, answered. “Sorry”, Liz said.
“Elizabeth; I want you happy”. “Don’t let all of this ruin that. Plan your wedding and marry that young man”, Gibbs said.
“Okay”, Liz said as he hugged her.

“Facial recognition came back; but it set alarms off everywhere law enforcement is concerned”, Abby said.
“Ah hell”, Gibbs groaned.
“Sorry Gibbs”, Fornell said. “Prep for a large contingent”.
“Why”, Gibbs demanded?
“The law enforcement abcs are on the way”, Fornell replied.

“Jethro”, Robert said. “Anything out of Diana”?
“No”. “But we are going to need a lot more room”. “Facial recognition came back”. “We are in for a law enforcement invasion”, Gibbs informed.
“Ah bugger”, Robert said. “Just ruin all our fun”.
“Yup”, Gibbs told him. “This is about to get a lot more complicated”.
“I’ve got a huge room in the basement; and we can move you in some tables”, Robert told him.

“Gibbs”, Tony said from down the hall?
“Yeah”, Gibbs said.
“Diana's asking for you”, Tony said.

When Jethro read the list of law enforcement coming, all he could think was:
This had turned into a huge case.
He had to wonder just what each of them had on his quarry. And would it lead him to those who had ordered Elizabeth taken as an infant?

After Gibbs had left the night before, Liz had realized that he was right. She wasn't going to postpone anymore.
So...... she sat down to start planning her wedding.

It didn't take Elizabeth long to write down all that she and Jason had decided so far. She knew what she and Jason each wanted for their wedding. So now it was just getting together with her Grams, her mom and her Grandma Alex to make the final decisions and get it all down.

“May I help you”, the security guard asked?
“Yes, we're looking for NCIS Special Agent Gibbs”, Olivia Benson answered.
“Wait here and I will go and get him”, the guard said.

Everyone was sitting @ the table making lists as well as deciding on a menu; that was reason her dad was present. She knew he was anal about food.
“Mom”, Liz said sighing?

“I just can't find the dress”. “None are what I am looking for”, Liz said resigned.
“Well if all else fails; we'll either go to Kleinfeld's or Lori's in Atlanta”. “We will find your dress”, Kate told her daughter.

“So, Jason has been giving his opinion on things”, Sonny said?

Gibbs escorted the DEA in and said they could pick out a table. They'd been told that this was a big operation.
“Long time Caitlin”, Daniel said.
“Yeah”, Caitlin said.
“How did you guys get involved”, Daniel asked?
“My boss”, Caitlin said.
Gibbs wasn't going to explain more than once, so he was waiting on the other before doing so.

“Boss”, Tim said walking in some time later?
“Yeah”, Gibbs questioned?
“We've got a problem”, Tim said.
“What”, Jethro asked?
“Diana attacked a guard; then tried to make a call”, Tim said.
“Damn it”! “How's the guard”, Gibbs asked?
“He'll live”, Robert answered entering.
“Do we know who she was trying to call”, Gibbs asked?
“We're trying to trace now”, Ziva said.

Diana watched as her court appointed attorney walked into the room.
“I will start with this; I am not very optimistic Diana”. “They have a lot of evidence against you”, Lincoln Tucker stated. “Add on top of that; that you're not co-operating”. “You’re facing a long prison term”. “I would suggest you help yourself and co-operate”.
There was no comment from Diana.
“I have also been informed that you could be charged as an accessory in your daughter Sarah's crimes”, Lincoln said.
“They wouldn't dare”, Diana spat!
“They would and they can”, Lincoln informed his client. He was beginning to see that it was a lost case.

“Homeland Security's here boss”, Tony said entering.
“Okay”, Gibbs said.

As the hours passed; CID, CIA, NSA, WSB, RCMP, US Marshals, TX Rangers and Fornell all arrived.

“You asked to see me”, Gibbs said standing in front of the cell.
“I want to see Steven”, Diana requested.
“That's up to him; but I will ask”, Gibbs said before walking away.

“Steven”, Jethro said?
“Gibbs”, Steven replied.
“Do you have a moment”, Gibbs asked?
“Yeah; what's up”, Steven asked?
“Diana is asking to see you”, Gibbs stated.
“Did she say why”, Steven asked?
“No”, Gibbs said.
“I'll come by after my shift; we'll see what she has to say”, Steven said.

“Thanks for designing the t-shirts again this year”, Lucy said.
“No problem Lucy”. “I enjoyed it”, Elizabeth said.
“Are you doing an act this year”, Lucy asked?
“Yes, I am performing”, Liz said.
“Hopefully I won't lose my clothes”, Lucy stated.
“Yes, hopefully not”, Liz said with a laugh.

And so Lucy, Liz as well as everyone else rushed around to get everything prepped and ready for the ball.

“She wanted you to be able to do what you wanted”, the attorney said.
“But I wasn't her granddaughter”, Liz said.
“Helene didn't care”, the attorney said as she had Elizabeth sign all the papers.

“Hello Diana”, Steven said.
“Steven”, Diana said coldly.
“What do you want Diana”, Steven demanded?
“What I want is to know why you've turned against your family for that brat”, Diana spat?
“She's my sister; and I will protect her”, Steven said.
“NO SHE'S NOT”! “Sarah is your sister”, Diana yelled.
“As far as I'm concerned I'm not related to Sarah; just like I'm not related to you”, Steven replied.
“You son of a bitch”, Diana spewed. “I raised you”.
“No you didn't”. “You just wanted me gone”. “So you had me sent away”, Steven stated.
“Yes I did”, Diana said. “I never wanted you there”. “But I wasn't given a choice”. “If I had been, I would have said no”.
“You would have left me with Heather”, Steven questioned?
“Yes I would have; she was your mother; not me”, Diana stated coldly.
“Goodbye Diana”, Steven said walking out.

Georgia had demanded to see Jenn. Jenn had agreed; she wanted to know what the woman was up to.

“Hello Georgia”, Jenn said.
“I'm your grandmother, greet me properly you ungrateful little bxxxx”, Georgia demanded.
“No, you're not”, Jenn said.
“I'm glad your mother was killed”. “She betrayed my son”, Georgia said.
“No she didn't”. “What do you want”, Jenn demanded?
“You and your grandmother, Maggie”; dead, Georgia shouted!
“You wish”, Jenn yelled in reply.
“Yes, I do wish”. “Both of you have been a thorn in my side since your mother walked into my son's life”. “Your mother should have walked away”. “But she didn't”. “And of course, just like her mother she couldn't stay away from me and mine”, Georgia said. “But I will get what I want in the end”.
“What is that supposed to mean”, Jenn demanded?
“For me to know”, Georgia said with an evil grin.

“What else could she plan on doing Mason”, Gibbs asked?
“I'm not sure”. “But It's can't be good”, Mason said.
“We'll double security on you, Maggie and Jenn”. “I won't take any risks”, Gibbs said.
“Thanks Agent Gibbs”. “I will do whatever it takes to protect my mother and my niece”, Mason said.

Gibbs just smirked as he sat at a table with Jeff and Sofia. He had let Elizabeth con him into his coming to this thing. He was even in a tux, and he hated the things. But for Elizabeth he would enjoy the evening. The things he did for that girl.

As everyone entered the ballroom, Lucy thought to herself:
This year is going to be different, but better. Elizabeth had taken over some of the planning and had gotten some good acts to come and perform for this good cause. She had to give the girl kudos; she was under a lot of stress and was still pulling off what Lucy had said couldn't be done.
